    Not Sure Where the Person Is Detained?

    Someone arrested in Des Moines, Davenport, Iowa City, Waterloo or another Iowa community may later be taken to a county jail somewhere else. Do not assume the arrest location is the current detention location.

    IMMIGRATION COURT

    The Detention Facility and Immigration Court Are Different

    Iowa immigration cases are connected administratively with the Omaha Immigration Court. EOIR currently places the Des Moines DHS office, its sub-offices and Iowa matters within the Omaha Immigration Court administrative structure. However, EOIR's current administrative list does not separately name every Iowa county jail used by ICE. For that reason, do not assume the court simply from the jail address.
