To secure an immigration bond from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), there are specific eligibility criteria and requirements that must be met. At Amistad Bail Bonds, we help guide you through this process to ensure it’s as smooth and transparent as possible.
Not all individuals detained by ICE are eligible for an immigration bond. The eligibility criteria typically depend on:
Flight Risk: Individuals considered a high flight risk (those likely to not attend court hearings) may not qualify for a bond.
Criminal History: Those with serious criminal records or past deportations may not be eligible for a bond.
Pending Immigration Status: Immigration officials will assess the detainees immigration case to determine eligibility.
Eligibility for an immigration bond is decided by ICE or an immigration judge. Amistad Bail Bonds is here to assist you in navigating this process and ensuring that, if eligible, the bond is secured as quickly as possible.
If your loved one is eligible for an immigration bond, here is the basic information we will need
to assist in securing their release:
Bond Amount: The bond amount is set by ICE or an immigration judge. You must be prepared to pay either the full cash collateral or use property as collateral.
Basic Information from the Person Paying the Bond: We will need the following details from the individual providing the payment to us:
o Name
o Date of Birth
o Address
o Phone Number
o Email Address
Details of the Person Detained: To post the bond, we also need key details about the person being detained, including:
o Name
o Date of Birth
o Country of Birth
o Address and phone number in the USA where they will live after release
o Alien number (A-number) provided by ICE (This is critical for locating the
detainee and posting the bond. The bond cannot be posted without the alien
number.)
At Amistad Bail Bonds, we streamline the immigration bond process and help you gather all necessary documentation and meet ICE’s requirements. Our team will:
Consult with you to assess bond eligibility.
Help you determine the best collateral option: cash collateral
or property collateral.
Guide you through the bond posting process for fast
processing through the Homeland Security eBonds portal.
Our role is to assist you in securing the release of your loved one, while ensuring a smooth and transparent process.
Eligibility may be affected by the severity of the criminal record. We recommend consulting with our team to understand your specific case.
On average, bonds are between $3,000 and $5,000, though Amistad Bail Bonds has seen bonds as high as $20,000 or more, though these are less common.
The bond posting process through the eBonds portal follows three steps:
1. Send a request to ICE: We first send a request to ICE, and typically receive a response within 30 minutes to a few hours.
2. Post the bond: Once we receive confirmation from ICE that we can proceed to post the bond, posting takes less than 5 minutes.
3. Wait for bond approval: After posting, we wait for confirmation that the bond has been accepted. If the bond is approved by 2 pm local ICE office time, the detainee is usually released that afternoon. In rare cases, the release may occur the following day due to transportation or detention center issues.
Please note: We cannot begin this process without receiving payment and signed contracts on our end.
