How Would You Like to Search?
Option 1: Search by A-Number
The A-Number, also called an Alien Registration Number, may appear on immigration notices or documents issued by DHS, USCIS, ICE or an immigration court.

Fields Required for A-Number Search:
A-Number
Enter nine numerical digits. Do not include the letter “A,” spaces or punctuation. If the number contains eight digits, add a zero at the beginning.
Country of Birth
Select the country where the person was born—not their current residence or nationality if it is different from their birthplace.
Option 2: Search by Biographical Information
Use this option if you do not have the person’s A-Number. Complete the form using information that matches official records.

Check every digit of the A-Number.
Birthplace
Select the country of birth, not the country of residence.
Legal Name
Use full legal name and preserve hyphens or compound surnames.
What to Do After Finding the Person

- •Contact the facility directly to confirm current custody and ask about communication or visitation procedures.
- The ICE locator does not show bond eligibility or confirm the current bond amount. That must be obtained separately from ICE or court.
What If No Record Is Found?
A 'no record found' does not always mean not detained
- •Check for an incorrect digit, misspelled name, missing surname, or wrong country.
- •The person may be undergoing processing, transfer, or held by a local agency.
- •Contact an ICE ERO Field Office ↗
- The online locator should not be used to search for anyone under 18.
