Confirm the Person Is Still in Sioux City

The county's newer Law Enforcement Center and Jail were completed in 2024. Use this location rather than an older downtown jail address, and confirm your visit with jail staff before traveling.

The county lists video visitation hours and check-in requirements on its jail page. Confirm the current schedule and visitor approval rules before going to the facility.
Set up phone calls
The jail's phone system uses an approved communications provider. Follow the county's calling instructions to set up an account. The main jail number is for staff inquiries.
Add money for personal purchases
The county directs deposits through its listed commissary service or lobby deposit machine. Money for commissary buys personal items; it does not pay an immigration bond.
Check the mailing instructions
Personal mail goes through a separate processing service. The county also gives different instructions for legal mail. Follow the current rules instead of sending every item to the physical jail address.
Immigration Court Information
The jail handles custody. The person's latest immigration court notice tells you where and how to attend a hearing. Do not assume the hearing is at the Sioux City jail or choose a court based only on distance.
