Use ICE's official detainee locator. You can search with:
- Their A-Number and country of birth. The A-Number is the immigration number on their paperwork.
- Their first and last name and country of birth. Their date of birth can help narrow the results.
A recent arrest or transfer may take time to appear. The locator does not show people under 18. No result does not mean the person has been released. Contact the facility or ICE if you still cannot confirm their location.

Check the Court Notice Before Making Plans
An immigration court handles the case and hearings. The detention center is where your family member is being held. They are not necessarily in the same place.
Use the Latest Hearing Notice
Use the latest hearing notice for the court, date, time and instructions for taking part. You can also check EOIR's online case information. EOIR is the government agency that runs immigration courts. If anything is unclear, contact the court shown on the notice or your attorney before traveling.
An Appointment With ICE Is Separate For a check-in or another ICE appointment, follow the address and instructions on your own appointment notice. An ICE office is not the same as the detention center or the immigration court. You do not need to travel to an ICE office to begin a bond application with Amistad.
