How to Pay an Immigration Bond in Mississippi

With Amistad Bail Bonds, a cash deposit or an approved house backs the bond. This is called collateral. It is separate from the fees for our service. You can also pay the full bond amount directly to ICE if you meet its requirements.

Cash Deposit With Amistad Bail Bonds

You deposit cash equal to the full bond amount. We hold it as collateral and handle the bond paperwork.

    Cash deposit
    Full bond amount
    Bond fee (premium)
    2% of the bond amount
    Application fee
    $100
    Annual fees
    $0

You leave a deposit equal to the full bond amount. We hold that money as collateral and handle the bond paperwork. The deposit may be returned after ICE cancels the bond and the agreement terms are met. Your loved one leaving detention does not automatically mean the deposit is returned. Review the fees and the rules for returning your deposit before signing.

Use a House With Amistad Bail Bonds

An approved house can be used instead of a full cash deposit. We review the house at no cost. Having a mortgage does not always rule it out.

    Collateral
    Approved property
    Bond fee (premium)
    15% of the bond amount
    Application fee
    $100
    Annual fees
    $0

An approved house can replace the full cash deposit. The property review is free, and having a mortgage does not automatically rule out the house. We record paperwork showing that the house backs the bond. This is called a lien. You keep ownership, but the house can be at risk if money owed under your agreement goes unpaid. Ask us to explain those conditions before signing. Notary costs and any county fee to record the lien release are separate.

    Pay ICE Directly

You can pay the full bond amount to ICE yourself if you meet its requirements. You handle the government payment steps and do not pay Amistad Bail Bonds fees.

How to Get Started With Amistad Bail Bonds

Call with what you have. Helpful details are the person's full name, A-Number, current detention center, bond amount, and your name and phone number. The A-Number is the immigration number on the person's paperwork. We need it before submitting the bond.

    What to Have Ready

    • Person's full name
    • A-Number (immigration number on the person's paperwork)
    • Current detention center
    • Bond amount, if set
    • Your name and phone number

Don't have all the details? That's okay. We'll help you with the next steps. We do need the A-Number before posting the bond.

    What Happens Next

    1. 1

      Choose a payment option

We explain the costs. If you want to use a house, we review it before you move forward.

    2. 2

      Complete the application and documents

Sign the agreement and make the required payment. If you use a house, we explain which documents need a notary and how to send the signed copies and originals.

    3. 3

We check the bond details with ICE

Once the required paperwork and payment are complete, we ask ICE to confirm the bond information.

    4. 4

      We submit the bond

We send the bond through ICE's online system for approval.

    Release Timing

When Your Loved One Can Leave

ICE must approve the bond before the detention center can complete the release steps. Some people leave the same day; others wait longer. No bond company can promise an exact release time.

Confirm the pickup plan with the center before traveling.

Be Careful With Same-Day Release Promises

No bond company can guarantee same-day release. ICE controls bond approval, and the detention center controls when the person can leave.

Before traveling to pick someone up, confirm the release plan with the detention center.

    Find a Facility

    Find Detention Information in Mississippi

A person taken into custody in Jackson may be moved to a facility elsewhere. Use ICE's locator to check the current location rather than relying on the city where the person was detained.

If ICE lists a different center, use that facility's name when asking for help. A transfer can also take someone outside Mississippi. Use the official ICE detainee locator to find where the person is held.

    Check the Immigration Court Notice

The detention center holds the person. The immigration court handles hearings about the case. They may be in different states: EOIR, the agency that runs immigration courts, lists Adams County with LaSalle Immigration Court in Louisiana.

Check the latest hearing notice for the date, time, and how to attend. EOIR's online case tool can help you check the case, but it does not replace the court's notices. Contact the court or the person's attorney if the details are unclear.

    FAQ

    Mississippi Immigration Bond Questions

What if no bond amount has been set?+
Ask ICE or the person's immigration attorney whether a bond is available. Amistad Bail Bonds can explain its payment requirements, but we cannot decide whether someone qualifies for a bond.
Is an immigration bond the same as bail for a criminal case?+
No. They follow different processes. Before paying, confirm whether you are dealing with an immigration bond or bail for a criminal case.
What if ICE moves my loved one while I am applying?+
Tell us the new facility as soon as you know it. We need the current location and bond details before submitting the bond.
