Find Someone Detained by ICEThree Places Families Often Confuse
The detention facility, ICE office and immigration court have different purposes. They may also be located in different cities.
Detention Facility
Where the person is physically held. Use the facility guide for contact and visitation information.
ICE Field Office
Handles certain custody and enforcement matters. An ICE office address does not, by itself, identify where the person is detained.
Immigration Court
Handles the immigration case. It may be in a different city from the detention facility.
Batavia court update
EOIR closed the Batavia Immigration Court on July 24, 2026, and announced that pending cases would move to Buffalo for video hearings. Check the person's latest hearing notice for their case assignment.

What if the person was arrested in New York City but transferred elsewhere?
Confirm the current detention facility first. Tell Amistad where the person is now and whether a bond amount has been set.
Does the Batavia court closure mean the detention center closed?
No. EOIR's announcement concerned the immigration court inside the facility, not closure of the detention center.
Can I arrange the bond if I live outside New York?
Yes. Amistad can review your information remotely. Application and approval requirements still apply.
Can I use my New York home as collateral?
Not under Amistad's property collateral program. If you own a home in another state, contact us to ask whether it may qualify.
